Michael Jordan is the greatest player I have ever seen play (and in my opinion, the greatest ever to play), yet because of the mentality we have adopted (new is better), we neglect the fact that was this man did on the court was epic and won’t be duplicated. Players will be more athletic (some are, in parts, some jump higher, run faster, or are as strong as MJ was), they’ll be better technical players, but none will have the toughness (especially in this current climate of “the NBA”) and the other attributes I described earlier all in one. To say someone was bigger than the game may seem disrespectful to basketball purist, but in my opinion, he was. And he backed it up every night he played.
