The Lenzmen-The Lyrical Leaders of Long Island

A repost from an old blog of mine from 2007.

Some of my favorite groups of all-time are Eric.B & Rakim,Wu-Tang, Public Enemy, Run DMC, EPMD, Beastie Boys, NWA, Tribe, De La, Camp Lo,and many others(I’d be naming groups forever), but aside from those groups, these Long Island MC’s played a pivotal role in my career, conceptually and lyrically. The members of The Lenzmen are: Centri, Doctor Strange,Dynamics Plus, and Earthadox (not featured in these songs). The efficiency in each bar mixed with the creativity, sarcasm, alliteration, double entendre’s coupled with them pulling you into “their world”-one of the best hip hop groups ever.

R.I.P. Macho Man Randy Savage (November 15, 1952 – May 20, 2011)

(From the Late Bloomer in Wrestling’s Perspective)

Growing up, wrestling was a part of every kids entertainment. To a lesser degree(very less), it was mine as well. As I got older, I was educated more on the science and genius of these amazing performers and the epic battles that played out like a modern day Coliseum grudge match. One of the great wrestlers I was educated about by BoogiePop was Macho Man Randy Savage. We all knew (unless you’ve been in solitude for 20+ years) Macho Man for his Slim Jim commercials and the cameo in the first Spider Man movie. What I didn’t know that a lot of purist of the sport knew was how Macho Man was the personification of what sports entertainment was all about: charismatic with superior physical gifts and amazing technical skills as a wrestler. The electrifying battles he fought in the ring brought many generations joy and should educate others on why wrestling should be respected as one of the top sports in the world. Macho Man, you will be greatly missed by all who’s lives you’ve touched.
